Solar Star Thermal Switch

The Solar Star Thermal Switch will turn off the ventilation cycle when the temperature in your roof cavity is below 18*C and start again when the temperature in your roof cavity is over 29*C. The Thermal Switch can be installed on all Solar Star models and it is easy to retrofit.

The thermal switch is sold as an accessory because it is not required in most installations.

The Solarstar provides benefit all year round. In the summer it removes hot stale air keeping your house cool. During the winter it operates at a lower capacity due to the seasonal reduction in sunlight, there is still enough air flow to remove moisture from the roof space and prevent condensation becoming a problem. Condensation can cause significant damage in the roof space and also reduce the thermal rating of your insulation. It is much better to have a flow of fresh air flow and dry insulation. The insulation can then act like a blanket keeping the heat inside your rooms below.
